CorpSec, J Accounting & Robot (Collectively refer as “Business”): Decision Making Guidelines


The Decision Making Guidelines (DMGs) are the guidelines for decision making in the Business. The DMGs are the framework to be discipline for how we function on a day to day as well as to help us make decision on Grey-Area situation. Each of the DMGs are independent non-linear working procedures and stand on its own. They are not sorted by importance, but do pay attention to the first few DMGs.


Decision Making Guidelines


  1. Ambassador for a cause. We believe in helping people live their dreams so that they can enjoy a more fulfilling life and taking care of others so that they can live a life with fewer worries.
  2. Absolute rule in the Business. Every decision in the Business must adhere to the Strategic Objective, Decision Making Guidelines and the collection of Working Procedures.
  3. Trust the process. Have faith in the Systems that are present. Believe that everything will work well in the end. Do not question and NO “but”. Just do it.
  4. Play by the rules. We do not take advantage of other and we seek to protect ourselves from being taken advantage off.
  5. Walk the talk. We practice what we preach. Every actions must be consistent with what we say and do. Talk is cheap and action speak louder.
  6. Team members come first. The people we allow into our circle are those who believe in what we believe and are inspired to live our cause. The natural outcome is that we provide great value to our clients.
  7. Practice make Permanence. The more we practise something, the better we are at it. It is very important to focus on the good stuffs as it builds good habits. STOP the bad stuffs as it will lead to bad habits. Perfection is not always attainable, 98% is good enough.
  8. Getting the work done. This is the ultimate benchmark for performance. Are there always complications or excuses some way or another when work not done? A Team Member MUST be able to execute the system perfectly and getting the work done.
  9. Finish what is started. Make sure to follow up and complete what we have started. Take the initiative to do it. Be more proactive. We are answerable to what we have started. It is called responsibility.
  10. Always get Real-World feedback. Never make assumption. Get hypothesis, theory or concept together in its minimum effective state and roll it out. Let the real world guide us and confirm our bias. This apply to everything in the Business.
  11. Dealing with mistakes. As long as all team members abide by the decision making guidelines and working procedures, all mistakes are blamed on system weakness. If a mistake occurs: 1) put out the fire, 2) immediately fix the system weakness that caused this fire in the first place, then 3) notify team members of the update.
  12. Prevention is better than cure. We work on system improvement and system management to prevent problems from happening in the first place. We are not fire killers BUT fire prevention specialist. This is where we spent most of our time.
  13. Keep things simple. We find the simplest solution in everything we do. Under the assumption of Ceteris Paribus: All else being equal. We will always pick the simplest solution.
  14. The meaning of our communication is the response we get. We take ownership in our communication process. If they do not understand, then it is our responsibility to make sure that they do. Therefore, for things to change, we must change first.
  15. How we do anything is how we do everything. Put effort in what we do and do it well no matter how small. Our character is reflected in how we handle the anything. The momentum build will eliminate sloppiness and laziness in our work.
  16. Be in control. We will want as much control as we can get to get things done smoothly and orderly without having bottlenecks.
  17. Past does not equate the future. Instead of crying over spilled milk, we learn from it and focus on system improvement to prevent the past from happening again. This make us better in the future.
  18. Never reinvent the wheels, ONLY change the tyres. If there is an existing solution, we will adopt it and tweak it to suit our needs. We will NEVER recreate the same solution from scratch.
  19. Do it NOW. If it can be done now without any bottleneck, we just do and complete it instead of having to clean it up later. Think Point of Sale (POS) in Retail. It is that simple.
  20. Beat the crowd. Avoid doing something when everyone else are doing it. Reduce unnecessary unproductive time. Maximise efficiency of time. Afterall, time is precious.
  21. Learning is important. If we don’t know the answer, admit we don’t know and find the answer on our own. Be more independent. If appropriate, document the solution in our procedures. This is resourcefulness.
  22. Money is a result of value exchange. We spend money if the value gain is equal or greater to the dollar spent. Likewise, when we provide value, money come as a result.
  23. Health come first, work come second. We keep ourselves healthy so that we can always perform at our best.
  24. Honor our word. If we say we do something, we are committed to getting that something done. This is called Integrity
  25. Do or do not, there is NO try. No halfway work lying around. Either the things get done or it does not. To try is the same as not doing. Take pride in the work and do it properly.
  26. Sharing is caring. There are no secrets in the Business. We are transparent in the operation of the business. Everyone know what everybody is doing hence we can cover for those who is unavailable.
  27. We double check our work. If it is not yet a habit, then it must be cultivated. This will reduce the probability of human errors while improving the quality of work.
  28. One fell swoop. This is how we get things done. Instead of multitasking, we spent a single period of activity on a specific task to get it done.
  29. We give people what they want and recommend them their needs. We never hard sell, instead we help them make a decision to buy.
  30. Demand Drives Decision-Making. Only build what is needed, when is needed and no sooner. Avoid getting caught up in What-If scenarios. When building systems, always follow the sequence of elimination, automation, delegation.
  31. Setting priority is critical. Paid customers have the highest priority. We work on the most important and urgent task first. Non urgent but important task come second although that is where we spend most of our time on working the system.
  32. Straight to the point. Keep conversation on phone, email or meeting etc short and sweet. Never beat around the bush and jump straight to the point we want to drive across.
  33. Casual yet professional. This is the style we maintain everyday. Laugh off the problems, stay calm and relax. We will still maintain our quality and professionalism.
  34. Do our homework. It is important to do background research before anything else. This will help us to be better prepared and gain more confidence in our work.
  35. There are only two level in the Business. The management and the team. The management is responsible in ensuring that everything go on smoothly while the team get the work done. Everyone play an important role and is equally important.
  36. Abundance mindset. It is the total opposite of scarcity. There is always more of everything in life for everyone. We are expected to adopt this mindset. This promotes win-win situations.
  37. The working environment is safe and relax. There shall be no politics. Instead, everyone will watch each other back and make the Business their dream place to work.
